Dry Ice Blasting for Commercial Food, Beverage and
Bakery Equipment Cleanup
Bakeries
Continuous
conveyor ovens can be difficult to clean, cleaning delay can cause
significant production down-time. Dry ice blast cleaning allows
cleaning to be done without cooling the oven down and can even
be done without halting production. The food-grade dry ice pellets
leave no secondary waste to deal with or to contaminate product.
Oven drive chains are easily and effectively cleaned, eliminating
the need to remove them or clean them with water, resulting in
damage to bearings and other components. Commercial waffle irons
are cleaned hot and in-place resulting in no down time for cleaning.
Fryers, mixers, racks, carts and a variety of other items are effectively
cleaned with dry ice blasting.
Installed Equipment
Dry
ice blasting allows installed equipment to be cleaned without the
need to remove it from the production line. Bakery ingredients, grease,
and oil are all removed without contamination. Dry ice blasting is
electrically safe, it will not short-circuit motors or switches,
and there are no flammable or explosive byproducts.
Items like bread slicers can be cleaned without
disassembly. No wiping by hand is required, reducing possible injury
to the work force and possible damage to the blades.
Special areas like Proofers and Baggers can be
cleaned faster using dry ice blasting. No special chemicals, minimal
or no hand wiping, and no disassembly are needed. Grease, carbon
or other leftover material are all removed at the same time, without
water that promotes bacterial growth. Waffle plates are easily cleaned
using dry ice blasting to remove the built-up carbon and baking residue.
Cleaner plates conduct heat better. The line
can move faster as the plates can be cleaned in place.
Using dry ice blasting as the cleaning agent
reduces the use of water. This, in turn, inhibits the growth of bacteria,
and the process has been noted to reduce or totally destroy mold
spores and other biological agents that settle into built-up
material. |
